I like the idea of a treatment concealer as well but I am skeptical that it’ll treat my dark spots…hell, I’ve spent good money on dark spot treatments that didn’t work, why would a $10 concealer do any better of a job is my opinion ya know? But who knows! Overall, I like this concealer as something for quick application and on the go days but if need really hardcore, long wearing coverage I do need to rely on another product to get the job done. Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser lacks these characteristics which shortens the wear time. A stronger wear could be due to the thicker consistency of those concealers and the little bit of “stick” for lack of a better word that they have. I can easily get three to four hours wear from it but other concealers I know and use like my favorite It Cosmetics Concealer tends to wear strong all day. This could be one reason it tends to wear away rather quickly. The concealer has a thinner consistency with a softer, hydrating finish. My main issue with the formula is it has a rather short wear time. I’m pleased with the over all look of my eyes after application though. I think if you have severe dark circles you might need a little extra coverage but this seems to build well enough in my opinion. It conceals my puffiness, my dark circles, and my finer lines providing decent coverage to brighten up the area and create the look of flawlessness. It doesn’t crease into finer lines and provides sheer to medium coverage. The concealer itself blends easily under my eyes. Although I admit over time that little puff tends to get disgusting and isn’t easy to wash really. Both the texture and this soft little puff makes for an excellent application and the formula just seems to glide across my skin like butter. The puff is a great way to glide concealer into place. This has a tiny puff on the end which concealer flows into as you twist. It’s a pleasantly moist, hydrating texture without being greasy or oily. Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer (shade swatches below 22 Light/Medium) seems to have improved upon the formula. I didn’t like the original Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in all honesty because I felt like it was greasy feeling. This is available in five shades for around $8.99-$9.99. I’ll update this post should I see any results in the future on dark spots. I like the idea it could be treating my problem areas though and if it works all the better. I’d probably have to try this for a year or more to see the best results so I’ll only be discussing the texture, coverage, etc…of this as a concealer but not as a treatment. Maybelline promises to visibly decrease dark spots in as little as four weeks so not only does it concealer but it treats aging spots, dark spots, acne scarring, and sunspots.Ĭoncentrated vitamin C is a tricky little ingredient and isn’t always stable or effective at brightening/whitening. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment is a newly formulated Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer which contains vitamin C that helps fight dark spots over time as it covers them.
